Sky-Trax Presents “Development of Centrally Controlled Vehicles (CCV): A Progress and Status Report” at IUV 2008

Program Director Monty Taylor to speak at the IUV Technology Conference in Lincolnshire, IL on Wednesday, September 17, 2008

New Castle, Delaware, September 3, 2008  -- Join Sky-Trax Program Director Monty Taylor for an educational session on The Development of Centrally Controlled Vehicles (CCV): A Progress and Status Report at the IUV Technology Conference, Emerging New Technologies in Design & Engineering for a Challenging World 2008.  The seminar will take place at the Lincolnshire Marriott in Lincolnshire, IL on Wednesday, September 17 at 10:00 am.

Mr. Taylor will discuss improving efficiencies and decreasing costs in logistics and material handling.  His presentation focuses on Centrally Controlled Vehicles (CCV), a new class of vehicle system that is under development and offers the potential for rapid growth of automated vehicles for new industrial applications. In a CCV system, both driven and guided vehicles may operate cooperatively within the same space. A CCV system can route and command the entire fleet of both driven and guided vehicles using a centralized database control, allowing both types of vehicles to operate safely and effectively within the same coordinate space. Attendees will learn how Sky-Trax’s manned vehicle navigation solution, which uses optical RTLS sensors that view ceiling mounted markers, can be adapted for use in unmanned warehouse vehicles.

“Sky-Trax’s revolutionary patent-pending Indoor Positioning Sensor (IPS) provides the foundation for a CCV system to bridge manned and unmanned domains.” says Mr. Taylor, “We welcome inquiries about collaborative partners who can offer collision avoidance, multi-vehicle routing, WMS integration and vehicle prototyping.”
The two-day conference takes place on Tuesday, September 16 and Wednesday, September 17 at the Lincolnshire Marriott. Exhibits and in-depth seminars will address the latest developments in system solutions, engineering, alternate fuels and motive power, plus materials handling with regard to small task-oriented vehicles.

Stop by and see Sky-Trax at Booth # 213

In addition to Mr. Taylor’s speaking engagement, Sky-Trax will join other companies as an exhibitor during the expo.  Exhibits will feature the latest advancements in components, controls, and instrumentation for mobile equipment. Sky-Trax representatives will be available throughout the two-day event at booth #213 to discuss its solutions that address the critical need for increased efficiencies in end product manufacturing and operations.
